The vibrant yellow of this plumeria made me recall a backpacking trip on Maui where I spent a couple of nights in the crater at the top of Haleakalā, a 3000m tall volcano. These flowers reminded me of the sunrise each morning. "Haleakalā" means "house of the sun".
